I was at Bethel when they brought in the New Governing body arrangment, it seeemed it was at the time when they were also changing the elder arrangement rotating from one congregation overseer and a committee of three non rotational to the rotating elder arrangement. Knorr made comments at the time and they expressed doubts about the new arrangement. He died shortly after I think of a brain tumor. His facial expressions, voice and body language expressed an extreme dislike for the new arrangement. It was like a political coup against him, the other sprung this on him and he didn't like it.

What are the Demons up to ?
by Clam inwhat do you think most demons will be doing this weekend?
do you think they get any time off at all?.
if you're a demon why not tell us about yourself and why you joined up to the jehovahs-witness.com discussion forum.

I think the demons are fear, greed, ignorance, and people that don't want your child to have a birthday party. That Satan does look like he's having more fun than me.

For NICE PEOPLE only!
by BlessedStar init seems as though many people come to this board and leave in a short space of time.. it's a pity.. there are people on this board who are very nice and polite even when discussing various views.
this leads to understanding and concern.
i would like to meet you people.. please post in here.. i term nice as being kind, not cursing, love for god almighty, thrives on the right things in life, not hurting other's feelings, etc.. blessed star

I don't think the Watchtower Society has the right to decide whose naughty and whose nice, only Santa Claus should do that.

Jesus the archangel Michael? No.
by mdb injesus the archangel michael?
1 thess 4:16 (daniel 10:13).
the watchtower teaches that michael is the only archangel (aid to bible understanding).

Just a footnote to my comment, I certainly wasn't criticizing anybodies research I think the research done by the commentators on this thread is quite interesting, thats what I like about this board, unlike the Witnesse Kingdom Hall where only one opinion is allowed this board allows a diversity of opinion, even mine. And as far as 'conspiricy cabals' all of human history is full of conspiricies so it woudn't suprise me if there is a Mason/Watchtower connection but I don't have time to research this. And I know there are elements out there that can't stand the free exchange of ideas that takes place on the internet, and are working on some way to stop it. But I do apologize for my "pack up your bibles and go home" remark, I meant that as a joke, I guess I shoudn't post late at night when I am tired.

Assume the Position!
by yaddayadda injan 15 2006 watchtower, 2nd study article, last paragraph says:
"....likewise, satan will 'flee from us' in defeat if we are in full submission to jehovah and prayerfully rely on him.
(ephesians 6:18) with the support of jehovah god and his beloved son, nobody can do us permanent harm - no, not even internet apostates the devil!

Are the Witnesses going to add 'internet apostates' to their translation of the Bible, they have added (and subtracted) so many other things it's hard to keep track.

Why would an intelligent God allow for such ambiguity to exist if our eternal salvation depended on basically choosing the right form of worshiping God among a field of such incredibly different interpretations on the meanings. Since none of us lived back then as eyewitnesses to anything in the Bible and none of the bibilical writers are around to answer our questions, and the Witnesses sure as hell have proven they don't know, and God ain't talking, and there are no videos or DVD's of what actually happened or was said I think it's safe to say that there is no ultimate 'truth" availiable at this time. Sorry, I guess you'll all have to pack up your Bibles and go home.

Ted Jaracz mystery.
by imfreeimfree inted jaracz mystery.. in another thread http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/108263/1.ashx willyloman said:ted jaracz was the bethel celebrity on the program.
in a concluding talk, he scolded today's elders for being so preoccupied with entertainment and said, "why in our day, we didn't need entertainment.
" he went on to tell the bothers they should fill their free time by going back and reading all the wts' publications, back to 1919.

Thats kind of like telling fat people to exercise more. My dad was an elder, he had all the old publications and he never read them. I grew up in 'the truth' and never heard any elders talk about reading any old publications. But when I was at Bethel other Bethelites were paranoid of the older publications and suspected you of being apostate if you were up in the Bethel library reading them.

What do you call people who adopt other opinions without researching them?
by DavidChristopher ini was talking to two elders yesterday..... i was confronted about the whole "bad associations" question.
i asked them what "bad associations" were.
they have no idea what bad associations are to the author, only their opinions and the opinions of their chosen leaders.

Life in Bethel & Ex-Bethelites know if the GB prayed together?
by Sheepish ini have always wondered how seriously they took this dispensing doctrine thing.
do they all get together and actually pray or just have meetings?
ex- bethelites say they wrote doctrinal articles for the watchtower or awake.

I thought Fred Franz went into his room and kind of went into a trance, (probably after a few gin and tonics), and wrote alot of their crapola full of disconnected thoughts trying to pass itself of as deep spirtual thinking. Come to think of it was Franz really in that room at all or was he at a dirty movie. I guess only the holy ghost knows and he/she/it ain't talking.
